Context

FK Irons and Microbeau are one of the top tattoo and permanent makeup machine manufacturers in the world. They had a top-notch videographer and video editors and it was a shame their videos didn't have more traction. After my audit I concluded:

  • they needed keyword research for the titles

  • their thumbnails could be more eye-catching

  • they requested my assistance to structure their exclusive interviews

  1. Keyword research: made suggestions to Social Media Director for titles based on research.

  2. A/B testing and creative guidance on thumbnails: suggested images and text for the thumbnail, which could be different than the title.

  3. Researched and interviewed artists: to leverage our influencers, I would use my journalism skills in research and structured the interviews.

Action

Results?

1. A/B testing of images sometimes resulted in immediate increases in views.

2. RECORD sales - during the pandemic!

Ford could finally start getting feedback from their true demographic!

Context

This small, family-owned insurance broker wanted to explain difficult insurance concepts and highlight their best insurance plans. They also wanted leverage their family's 100-year history and expertise in the field. They'd had success with explainer videos.

Action
  1. Requested bids and hired a videographer: coordinated the shoot.

  2. Requested bids and hired 3 post-production video editors: coordinated through Fiverr.  

  3. Managed YouTube: created the thumbnails, uploaded videos, conducted keyword research for SEO-friendly titles.

Results?

1. A/B testing sometimes resulted in immediate increases in views!

2. Overall increase in views.

This national newspaper had very few digitally-savvy journalists at the time. Very few of their journalists had a Twitter account, and none knew how to produce videos. They interviewed around 20 candidates for the post of Digital Lifestyle Editor.

Action
  1. Shot footage with my camera: at important lifestyle and entertainment related events in Panama's capital.

  2. Produced the videos quickly: aiming to be one of the first to upload a video. Coordinated with video team to upload to YouTube.  

Results?

1. Happy with my work, the newspaper asked me to create a pilot foodie program for the sales department to look for an advertising sponsor.
